How we Transformed ourselves from ant sized Contact Centre, to an Organization having two operational Contact Centres with International Processes.
In 1986, Mr. R. J. Iyer retired from the Defence Services and settled in Nagpur with his family. The elder son Ravi took over the responsibilities of the family & joined a Coal Liasoning Company. He later rose to the level of Senior PRO of the Company. Hari J Iyer, the second son graduated in the Commerce from Nagpur University & joined Blow Plast Group, to assist his brother in supporting the family. He later joined the Official Publishers’ of Yellow Pages Telephone Directory in Nagpur, wherein he explored the possibilities & realized his potential to be an entrepreneur. He was ably supported by Ravi Iyer . After a brief stance as the Managing Partner of a Publishing Company, Hari Iyer & Ravi Iyer established Jayams Information Services Pvt. Ltd on 30th September’1999. The name JAYAMS was derived from the name of their late mother JAYALAXMI. Their objective was to set up the finest Contact Centre (BPO) in Central India.
The first big break came in the next year 2000 when an opportunity to handle Inbound Calls (197 Directory Assistance) for Hughes Teleco Calling, etc.m came our way. With almost the most Comprehensive database of Residential & Commercial Subscribers (Courtesy our Talking Yellow Pages Flagship Service – Callus Tele Info), we were sure that a huge opportunity awaited us. We were fortunate to recruit a good set of executives many of whom are still holding senior level positions in the Company.
The period 2000 to 2006 witnessed exponential growth for us with our Nagpur & Pune Centres delivering almost equal revenues to increase our set up from 5 Workstations to 125 Workstations. The business grew to avail Contracts for all the Outbound services of Hughes Telecom (Now Tata Teleservices Maharashtra Limited), such as Welcome Calling, 1st Bill Explanation, 1st Bucket Collection, Retention, Inbound Leed Generation, etc.
Retaining our key executives over the years has been one of the main factors contributing to our success. Learning has thus been passed on over the years and the next level of managers has more often than not, outshone their predecessors.
